- Like-for-like — Migration approach

- Craft Commerce to Shopify — Platform transition

- Sanity CMS — Content management

## Moving a Norwegian furniture brand to a supported platform without disrupting the business.

Fjordfiesta makes quality furniture including chairs, sofas, tables, and storage at their Norwegian factory in Dokka. They combine contemporary design with revived Norwegian classics, producing pieces like the Scandia and Sverre Fehn collections.

With their Craft Commerce setup being phased out, Fjordfiesta needed to move to a supported platform without rebuilding their entire storefront. Most of their sales come from B2B relationships.

We migrated them like-for-like to headless Shopify with Sanity as the CMS. The migration kept their design and content as they were while transitioning the commerce foundation.

The migration focused on platform stability rather than immediate conversion improvements. B2B commerce features and separate buying journeys are planned for future development.

## Like-for-like migration keeps the storefront familiar while the platform changes.

Moving platforms without changing design or content means customers see the same storefront while the foundation becomes sustainable.

1. **Keep the design and content** The same visual identity and product information customers already know.

2. **Keep URLs, or redirect them** Existing links and search visibility carry over to the new platform.

3. **Swap the commerce foundation** Move from Craft Commerce to supported Shopify and Sanity.

## How headless Shopify and Sanity divide responsibilities.

In a headless Shopify and Sanity setup, content management and commerce operations stay separate while the storefront brings them together.

1. **Content in Sanity** The CMS manages descriptions, imagery, and editorial content.

2. **Commerce in Shopify** Inventory, pricing, orders, and fulfillment stay in Shopify.

3. **Storefront combines both** The headless frontend pulls from both systems to present unified experiences.
